It seems to takes me a year or so to get cracking on putting news on the website. There's just so much going on that there's little time to sit down and write.
It's truly been an exciting year so far; Reagan was the top placed junior finisher at the Red Hills International back in March. That event is nothing to scoff at, it's a true challenge early in the season.
Reagan was fortunate to spend her summer up in Virginia as a working student under Lauren Kieffer. Kieffer is a great friend of our family and in my humble opinion, one of the finest young horse women in the United States.
Calvin received Flintstar in February this year and has spent a short time getting to know a very tricky horse. He's worked very hard and his hard work and patience paid off at NAJYRC this past July. They were the only pair to finish on their dressage score at the CCI2* level. They received the silver individual medal and the team gold.
Calvin's favorite mount, Hoodwink made it to NAJYRC and he was even presented at the first jog. Coaches and Calvin were still torn as to which horse to pick and waited for the very last possible hour to make their decision. It was virtually a coin toss and coach 'Dad' finally just said, "let's run Flintstar."
Hoodwink is waiting anxiously to run this weekend at Chattahoochee Hills.
We met so many more amazing people this year on the road running to new and different events. Our summer was spent in close quarters with many new faces and we all became very good friends. I'd consider those> new faces, lifetime friends.
Keep on kickin' through the fall season. Happy 2014
Can't wait to see everyone down the road at the next event.
